Black Horse Farms
Miniature Schnauzers
Welcome to Black Horse Farms Miniature Schnauzer Pages... These are pictures of the
permanent members of the family but be sure to see our Puppy Pen for our available puppies.
The Retired Girls:
Black Horse Beck It Bee Bente: Beckit (Black Parti, 8lbs) is a sweet, personable little girl who is also a scamp and loves to find her way around an "obstacle". A daughter of Zoe and Simon, she is home raised and loves to be held on her back like a baby. Too smart for her own good most of the time she has learned to be too cute to be mad at and keeps you laughing, or crying with her antics.
Beckit will never have puppies for us, she had an emergency spay due to a pyometra before she could be bred. We love her to pieces and she's here to stay! (AKC)
Black Horse Storm: Storm (dark S&P) is one of the first of my kids... she was the third one actually and we love her so very much.
She is a very "easy keeper" so her girlish figure is more like that of a huffalump. Her favorite things are to go for rides in the car and
to play wrestle with her best friends, well, other than food and treaties.
Storm is now retired and will soon be livin' the "good life" with her full sister who is my mother's companion and friend.... it's only fitting that she should end up back with her sister... (AKC,CKC)
Black Horse Sarah: Sarah (black) is a gentle, sweetheart whom I bought for my
daughter, Lindsay.
She sleeps in Lindsay's room every night on her bed and waits for her to
come home from being away, she is very dedicated and protective of her best friend...she truly is Lindsay's kid...and Lindsay called Sarah's puppies her grandbabies!
Because Sarah developed a Pyometra (uterine infection caused from hormone changes) and despite efforts to treat it medically with antibiotics, it was necessary to spay her to save her life.
After 4 days in the hospital she was able to come home and is as good as new and is now "retired". She continues
to be Lindsay's best buddy and will always have her home here with us!
Black Horse Brie Anna: Brie (White) is smaller, quiet and shy. She more easily has her feelings hurt if you accidentally step on her toes or if one of the bigger dogs looks sideways at her. While she loves to play with the other dogs and have her petting time, she is a pretty quiet and content little girl who will be retiring soon.
**Update- Brie is out on a trial with her new retirement home and by all reports has fit in like she has been there her whole life. I am grateful for those who take my available retiring babies when it's time for adoption to the right forever home. She is reported to have claimed Joanne's lap to snuggle on and get her lovin's and everyone seems to be content.(AKC)
The Active Girls:
Buttercup XX: Buttercup (Salt & Pepper, 14 lbs) is one of Cotton's daughters from an outside female that came in for breeding and the owners and I did a "puppy exchange" to bring new bloodlines into our program. She
is a very happy, social girl and when bred to Lucas she has given us some gorgeous babies, including Hamster, our junior male. She reminds us so much of her daddy, with his sweet and loving ways, we are so glad she is part of our family. (AKC)
Black Horse Isabelle Moon: Isabelle (Black, 9 lbs) is one of our girls on the path to retirement and soon will be available for that perfect forever home where she can be a spoiled princess and bask in all her glory.
She
is one of the smaller "toy" types but she doesn't know it so don't tell her. She is a little toughie, holding her own with the "big dogs", ...she may be
a little dog but she constantly proves there's a big dog in that body! She is also Liver related and when bred to males with that gene she has had some nice teeny, tiny Liver pups for us. (AKC)
Black Horse Madison Leigh: Madison (Black, 11 lbs) is the comic of the house.
She is a funny little girl who likes to
balance on her hind legs and is a real little love. Her nickname when she first came home was Velcro-Dog because
she spent the first 2 months following me everywhere she was able while walking on her hind legs so she could keep
her front paws on my leg. She has become much more secure even though she still suffers separation anxiety when it comes to me and while she ventures away to play with everyone but I am still her favorite thing in the whole world.
She is also Chocolate/Liver related and when bred to males of that gene she has had some nice Chocolate as well as s/p and black pups for us.
**Update- Madison is also on her way to retirement with her days as a Momma coming to a close. She is so overly attached to me that she won't be leaving home after her retirement. (AKC)
Black Horse Zoe: Zoe (9lb B/S & White Parti) loves to sit on my lap, or curl up on my side at night and loves to go for car rides. She is so sweet and loving that we have decided to keep one of her daughters from the first litter
She is also Liver/Chocolate related and when bred to males with those genes, she gave us some nice Chocolate parti & black parti pups.
**Update- Zoe is another of the girls about to age-out of the breeding part of the program and will eventually be available for adoption to the right forever home. She loves to snuggle on laps and get her lovin's. (AKC)
Black Horse Binty Raven: Raven (Black) is another home raised little girl. She is so funny she makes me just bust up with laughter at times...she will ah-rooo and croon and "talk" like she has something to say of great import, but only ocassionally so it always takes me by surprise and tickles my funny bone.
As she has approached retirement age,we have decided to keep one of her daughters from the last litter with our old male Simon.
She is also Liver/Chocolate related and when bred to males with those genes, she gives us some nice Chocolate parti & black parti pups among other colors. (AKC)
Mountain Views Chocolate Dreamer: Koko (Chocolate) is a sweet and loving little soul and she loves life!
When she first came here she had fallen hard for Lindsay. She liked to sleep
with and follow Lindsay around and made herself quietly at home where ever Lindsay is. But now she likes to hang out with all of us and be right in the middle
of the love and attention, whomever will dole it out! While she also loves to play with the other four-footed kids, some of them pick of her for some reason so she often will prefer to be with one of her people. We are so grateful to Mountain View Miniature Schnauzers for giving us this sweet little girl.
Koko has a Choc parti sire and a choc dam. (AKC)
The Menfolk:
Black Horse Lucas: Lucas (Chocolate & Tan, 12 lbs) was new to our crew in Dec of 08, but acted like he's always been a part of the family... He is super sweet and loving little fellow and is very expressive with his eyes. He loves cuddling in his bed with his fur-friends and can often be found in whatever bed is closest to us humans. Lucas has a "supercoat" and passes that on to many of his babies. We have re-homed Lucas to some friends of ours as we have kept a son of his to continue the line of both Lucas (his sire) and Cotton (his grandsire on his mother's side). We will continue to use him a time or two more to breed to Buttercup, Hamster's momma, to keep from doing any in-breeding. (AKC)
No Pic Available yet.
Black Horse Belling-Hamster: Hamster (Salt & Pepper, 10 lbs) was born here, a son of Lucas and Buttercup. He is funny and very verbal, shouting his hello's and good-bye's to all who come or go. Curious, and busy making sure the world is 'safe', he spends quite a bit of time playing with the other dogs or monitoring what the horses are up to. We are glad to have him to carry one both Lucas and Cotton's legacies and to be bred to Simon's daughters as well as some of our other girls. (AKC)
