Black Horse Farms
Miniature Schnauzers

Welcome to Black Horse Farms Miniature Schnauzer Pages...ok, ok, with a couple of Brussels Griffons thrown in for good measure. These are pictures of the permanent members of the family but be sure to see our Puppy Pen for our available puppies.

The Girls:

Black Horse Jasmine Moon: Jasmine (light S&P, 13lbs) is a sweet, personable little girl who easily wins the hearts of all who meet her. I can't tell you how many times people have asked to "borrow" her while waiting for their puppies to be old enough to go home. She knows several tricks and will happily perform for a treat or a scritch. Jasmine also likes to ride horses with us with a special harness and pad system designed just for her for that purpose.

Her puppies were all been wonderfully marked and sold out very quickly, with some being spoken for from before birth. She was a great mom, but is now retired and is just the princess of the house.(AKC,CKC)

Black Horse Storm: Storm (dark S&P) is one of the first of my kids... she was the third one actually and we love her so very much. She is a very "easy keeper" so her girlish figure is more like that of a huffalump. Her favorite things are to go for rides in the car and to play wrestle with her best friends, well, other than food and treaties. She is also the mother of Aspen, below and passes on to her puppies her gentle and loving temperament.

Storm has had Black and Silvers in each of her litters as well as a large ratio of females. (AKC,CKC)

Black Horse Sarah: Sarah (black) is a gentle, sweetheart whom I bought for my daughter, Lindsay. She sleeps in Lindsay's room every night on her bed and waits for her to come home from being away, she is very dedicated and protective of her best friend...she truly is Lindsay's kid...and Lindsay calls Sarah's puppies her grandbabies! Because Sarah developed a Pyometra (uterine infection caused from hormone changes) and despite efforts to treat it medically with antibiotics, it was necessary to spay her to save her life. After 4 days in the hospital she was able to come home and is as good as new and is now "retired". She contiues to be Lindsay's best buddy and will always have her home!

Black Horse Aspen: Aspen (B&S) is from Storm's first litter by Jordan and is a fantastic little dogger. She is 13" but more heavily built than some her same height...or is that because she likes to guard the free-feeder?.      She is funny little girl who "talks" with her "hands" and has a strong playful streak but also loves to have her alone time. When she gets tired and needs her own space she goes off to find her crate and take a siesta. Her favorite time to come for a scratch is when I am on the computer... she comes and puts her paws on the arm of the chair and looks up at me as if to say "Hey, remember me??"(CKC)

Black Horse Isabelle Moon: Isabelle (Black, 9 lbs) is another of Lindsay's "kids". She joined us from Arkansas. She is one of the smaller "toy" types. She is a little toughie though, holding her own with the "big dogs", especially Jorja who like to "stalk steal" her treats and toys...she may be a little dog but she constantly proves there's a big dog in that body! She is also Liver related (her sire is Liver) and when bred to Micah she has had some nice teeny, tiny Liver pups for us. (AKC)

Black Horse Madison Leigh: Madison (Black, 11 lbs) is the comic of the house. She is a funny little girl who likes to balance on her hind legs and is a real little love. Her nick name when she first came home was Velcro-Dog because she spent the first 2 months following me everywhere she was able while walking on her hind legs so she could keep her front paws on my leg. She has become much more secure and ventures away to play with everyone but I am still her favorite thing in the whole world. She is also Chocolate related (her sire is Chocolate) and when bred to Micah or Simon, she has had some nice Chocolate as well as s/p and black pups for us. (AKC)

Black Horse Zoe: Zoe (9lb S/P & White Parti) loves to sit on my lap, or curl up on my side at night and loves to go for car rides. She is so sweet and loving that we have decided to keep one of her daughters from the first litter She is also Liver/Chocolate related and when bred to Simon, she gave us some nice Chocolate parti & black parti pups. (AKC)

Black Horse Binty Raven: Raven (Black) is another home raised little girl. She is so funny she makes me just bust up with laughter at times...she will ah-rooo and croon and "talk" like she has something to say of great import, but only occassionally so it always takes me by surprise and tickles my funny bone. My daughter Lindsay asked to keep her since Sarah won't be having any more puppies and so I agreed (what was I thinking??) She is a beautiful little girl that LOVES attention and her favorite time is when I have settled into my recliner at night to watch TV and she can crawl up and snuggle. (AKC)

Black Horse Brit Annie: Brit (White) and Brie are littermates and come to us from Texas. We picked them out at just a few days old and waited anxiously for them to be old enough to fly home to us. Brittie is a mischievious one, she likes to chew on the things that aren't hers and . often finds herself in timeout because of it, but I really don't think she cares much, she just finds something new... :) Brit is the 4th of Lindsay's "kids". Lindsay laid claim to her as soon as she saw her and so who was I to refuse, this really is a "mother-daughter" endeavor after all... (AKC)

Black Horse Brie Anna: Brie (White) is the quieter and smaller of the 2 sisters. She more easily has her feelings hurt if you accidentally step on her toes or if one of the bigger dogs looks sideways at her. While she loves to play with the other dogs and have her petting time, Her favorite thing to do is play with her sister... they really are best friends! (AKC)

Mountain Views Chocolate Dreamer: Koko (Chocolate) is a sweet and loving little soul and she loves life! When she first came here she had fallen hard for Lindsay. She liked to sleep with and follow Lindsay around and made herself quietly at home where ever Lindsay is. But now she likes to hang out with all of us and be right in the middle of the love and attention, whomever will dole it out! She also loves to play with the other four-footed kids. We are so grateful to Mountain View Miniature Schnauzers for giving us this sweet little girl.

Koko has a Choc parti sire and a choc dam. (AKC)

The Menfolk:

Black Horse Simon Sez: Simon (Chocolate) is another sweet boy, altho he is homozygous for the One Color gene so we will only ever get Black, or Chocolate- with or without parti, from him... His parents are both Toy-sized at 8lbs and he is the beau for Isabelle, Aimee and Brie for our Toy-sized line. He loves playing wrestle with his fur-friends or napping on my chest and is just enjoying life. (AKC)

BW Cotton: Cotton (White) is a great little guy who came to us from friends where he had been a breeding male for them for the last several years and after keeping some of his daughters, we were given the opportunity to bring him to our home. He is adjusting to life outside a kennel and enjoys playing with the group we have. Cotton is a nice size and his build is very square and stocky and so he should re-inforce that wonderful conformation in my lines. Cotton's first litter for us, bred to Raven, Micah's daughter was a very nice litter, he downsized several of the puppies and bred to Storm he gave us some beautiful B/S too!(AKC)

Black Horse Micah: Micah (Liver Pepper, 11" - 13 lbs) is a great little guy. He came from the same breeder as Madison (above) to us from Texas. He is such a playful and happy fellow and altho he remains shy with strangers, he has become less so and so we hope he will continue to become more comfortable with them. He loves playing fetch with his toys and has also turned out to be a wonderful sire. He also loves to sleep on my lap and have his ears and chest scratched and with his in and out dog door and having free run of the large fenced yard his life is pretty complete. He is smaller than average and is a great cross for both my larger girls as well as with Isabelle for a new line of the smaller "toy" type minis for us. Micah is currently visiting my friend in Idaho and is having a great time being the only man of the house with his own harem... :) (AKC,APRI,CKC)

Black Horse Jordan:We lost Jordan on August 14th, 2005 due to a tragic accident. Our hearts are aching and lonely in the place where he lived. He is so missed. We love you, Jordan...you will always be in our hearts.

Jordan was a very happy, go lucky guy who loved to play, whether it be with other dogs or with his human family and he was known to jump on the trampoline, climb outdoor play gyms and slide down slides, all to join my daughter in the fun. We have his daughter Aspen but it will never be the same without him.
